After everyone arrives, we have a quick huddle to meet each other, talk about expectations and the possibilities offered that day, and then the rest of the time is spend creating and exploring! Families are welcome to stay for up to an hour.

Plan to get messy! There will be smocks available for those who may want them, but we don’t require children wear them. We also don’t limit how the children use materials, unless what they are doing is unsafe. If they want to cover their bodies in paint, we say “go for it!”

Process art is a child-centered approach focusing on the experience of creation rather than the final product.
It is open-ended, allowing toddlers and elementary students to explore materials freely, fostering creativity, fine motor skills, and emotional expression without fear of making mistakes or needing to match a sample.

Invitations “invite” participants to explore materials with a leading question or idea.
Provocations are extra open-ended and are meant to “provoke thought” or curiosity using the materials and environment around them.

Yes! Everyone attending the sessions, no matter what kind of session or the age of the participant, may engage with the materials. They are good for all ages!
